Frequently Asked Questions
How should I prep for my Airbrush Spraytan?
Shave 18–24 hours before your scheduled tan! (Shaving any closer can cause dots where the pore is still open.)
Schedule workouts, facials, waxing, and mani/pedis at least 12 hours before your tan.
Exfoliate! Getting that top layer of dead skin off will make your tan go on smoother and last longer! Even exfoliating really well in the days before your tan is extremely helpful. I have an amazing scrub that is meant to be used with spray tans. Ask me about it!
No lotions, deodorants, or perfumes, please! They can leave a film on the skin. Yuck! Deodorant has aluminum in its ingredients and when mixed with spraytan solution, it turns the skin green!
Dress to your comfort level for the tan. I do have disposables. Yes, it is completely normal to go fully nude.
Please bring loose fitting, dark clothing for after your tan. No bras, tight tank tops, or sneakers!
What is the aftercare for my Airbrush Spraytan?
Do not get wet or sweaty or have skin-to-skin contact before your first shower.
You may shower as soon as 2 hours after, or wait up to 4 hours!
1 hour = Light
2 hours = Medium
3 hours = DarkWhen showering for the first time after your tan, please don’t use any soaps or scrubs. Only the palms of your hands in lukewarm water!
It is normal to see the cosmetic bronzer coming off.
After the first shower, begin using an oil-free, paraben-free moisturizer two times daily. Keeping the skin hydrated ensures the life and even-fade of your tan. (A Tan Extender is recommended.)
After 24 hours, you can begin using mild soap!
Your tan continues to develop for the next 48 hours.
Avoid mineral oils and any scrubbing or exfoliating.
Use an oil-free sunblock. (Check out our Shop for recommended product.) Sunless tanning solution does not have SPF properties and will not protect you from the sun.
Can I get a Spray Tan if I have a sunburn?
Sunburns can cause your spray tan to come off patchy, potentially as quickly as the day after getting the tan. For lack of better words, it looks like a skin disease! (LOL!)
A sunburn can affect the skin up to 30 days or longer. Damaged skin may or may not absorb the tanning solution, so it is advised not to spray tan after a recent burn.
